L$15 Million Pumped In LFA’s 2019 Domestic League

LFA domestic league kicks off on high note

The Liberia Football Association will spend about Fifteen Million Liberian Dollars (L$15,000,000.00) in prizes for the 2019 domestic league, INSIGHT Sport has gathered.

The Local FA following an Executive Committee meeting approved the amount that will cover the youth categories, including third division and community leagues in the 15 counties.

With a comprehensive breakdown of the prizes; Winner in the First division will pocket L$1,500,000 plus a Cup and Medals, while the Runner-up shall take L$500,000 and Medals.

As for the Second Division league; crowned champions will receive L$650,000 and a Cup plus Medals, while the Runner-up will take home L$400,000 and Medals.

Women’s Football Division winner will bag L$550,000, a Cup and Medals, while Runner-up will collect L$315,000 and Medals.

It has been disclosed that winners in the Sub Association Championship in the 15 Counties will package L$20,000, a Cup and Medals each, while their Runner-ups will take L$10,000 and Medals.

The LFA National Third Division Play-offs Winner will comb L$250,000, a Cup and Medals, while the Runner-up will receive L$120,000 plus Medals.

Community League Play-offs Champions (15 Counties) Winner will comb L$16,000 each, a Cup and Medals, while the Runner-ups will receive L$8,000 plus Medals.

The LFA Cup, Male winner will take home L$650,000 + Cup + Medals and Runner up will pocket L$400,000 + Medals, while the LFA Cup Female category winner will manage L$500,000 + Cup + Medals and Runner-up takes L$315,000 + Medals

It is understood that the LFA will also hold an award night scheduled for November 29, 2019. At the award ceremony, players, officials and sports personalities will be honored for meritorious contributions.

It was reiterated that the “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) at the first division level will be presented a “Vehicle”, while deserving teams and individuals will receive cash prizes and awards.

Other awards to be determined by the rules will include highest goal scorer, best goalkeeper, defender, coach, referee and sports journalist respectively.

The Executive Committee at the LFA has resolved to cover the expenses of teams of match officials expected to participate in the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation Cup.

The expenses accordingly shall include the round trip tickets for eight referees and two match commissioners, hotel accommodation, feeding and local transportation during their stay in Liberia.
